Rock Bridge Nature Preserve

Updated: Oct 12, 2023

Rock bridge is a natural arch that looks like a bridge. It is more than 100 feet long and 10 to 20 feet wide, making it the largest natural bridge in Ohio.

The trail starts off in a grassy field with a path that is lined with honeysuckle. It was blooming when we went (second week of June) and it smelled amazing! The path was also lined with birch trees that were full of carvings. While I wish people wouldn't do this to the trees, I must admit they looked pretty cool!

As you walk further into the woods you will come to a sign that gives you two options. You can go one way on a short quarter mile walk to the natural bridge or another to the rock shelter loop trail that is a mile long. While the rock shelter loop was a beautiful walk in the woods without the crowds, we felt the highlight of this park was definitely to see the rock bridge which is off the natural bridge trail.

Choose the natural bridge trail to see the rock bridge. It's a short trail to the best part of the park!
